Fergi Fest - The Best Way to Close the Season

Fergi Fest Had It All

Snow, sun, smiling faces, sparkly outfits, fast skiers and so much more! It was an epic day. It started and ended in a snow storm. The sun came out middle of the day just in time for all the races. The fresh snow made the races a bit more challenging but smiles were all around as individuals crossed the finish line. As the sun set over the mountains, the music started, snow came down hard, and everyone made their way inside to dance the night away. It will be one for the memory books.

Come Celebrate Fergi Fest on April 1

Fergi Fest is on April 1

It will be hard not to shed a few tears on Saturday, April 1 after such a wonderful March filled with so much snow. We all can't believe the 2022-2023 season is coming to a close on our little ski hill. Thanks to everyone who made the season another great one on the hill, especially since this was our 40th year of operation.

This Fergi Fest is at least in recent memory one of the best snow-covered the hill has been. So, come join us for the last day of the season!

Wear your most festive ski outfit. We think the more sparkles and shimmer on your ski outfit the better.

The hill will be open from 10 am to 4 pm as usual. The snack bar will be open and might even stay open a smidgen longer than usual.

Sometime in the afternoon (around 1:00 PM) we will get organized and put together the usual fun Fergi Fest activities like ski golf and downhill ski races (weather and participant dependent). Listen for the hill managers to start making announcements around the T-bar for which event and age group is happening at the top of the hill. Just let them know if you want to participate. It is all for fun and bragging rights!

After the T-bar shuts down, stay and enjoy the live music at the lodge and dance the night away in your ski/boarding boots. If you want, bring a dish or goodies to share later in the evening while we enjoy the music and the apres experience of Fergi.

Due to a mix-up with Jakob, we will NOT have special 2023 Fergi Fest mugs to purchase. Instead, we have plenty of past Fergi Fest mugs collecting dust and figured this is a great year to get your vintage Fergi Fest mug. Missed a year? This is your chance to flesh out your collection and get that missing year. Fergi Fest mugs are $30. Proceeds will go to the Eagle Cap Ski Club. Bring cash or a check to purchase one.

First-timer tip - if you plan on staying until it gets dark, bring a flashlight, extra water, and an extra warm layer. Don't forget to return your season rentals as well!

Time to Return Your Season Rentals

Only a Few More Days Left to Turn in Your Season Rentals

First, thank you to everyone who has returned their season rentals already! This is huge for the rental shop. It helps them inventory all the gear for next season, replace old and broken equipment, and fix equipment as needed during the slower summer months.

Fergi is only open for 3 more days to get your equipment returned to the rental shop - March 25 & 26 and April 1. The rental shop decided to add an extra day to turn in your equipment on Sunday, April 2 from 10 am to 4 pm.

Everyone who returns their gear by April 2 will be entered into a raffle. 3 winners will be picked and will receive one free season rental for the 2023-2024 season. So, get your gear in today!

If you have a conflict and want to meet the April 2 deadline for the raffle, contact Adrianne Gass.

Sweetheart Slalom on February 18

Join us on February 18 for the Sweetheart Slalom

Bring a friend, partner, or sweetheart on February 18 and ski down the slalom course together.

Partners must hold hands during the race. Lose your grip on your partner's hand---disqualified. The race will occur sometime in the afternoon (2 pmish). Let the hill manager of the day know you are interested in participating. This is for smiles and giggles.

We will most likely have two divisions - kids under 16 and adults - depending on interest.

Stay after the hill closes and enjoy the Fergi Band. The Eagle Cap Ski Club will fire up the grill with burgers and dogs after the hill closes. The Snack Bar will close at 4 pm so if you plan on staying for the band bring your own food and drinks for dinner or bring a dish to share. Music will start around 5pmish.

Wallowa School Students Celebrating Fergi School Day

Fergi School Day

Thanks to Everyone Who Made School Day A Success

The Enterprise-Joseph Lions Club hosted the Joseph Charter School, Wallowa School District, Building Healthy Families, & a group of homeschooled students. Nearly 150 students skied all day and volunteers helped run the hill, taught them to ski, provided lunch, and set up kids with skis. Thanks to everyone who made Fergi School Day such a success!
