Fall Work Starts October 25
Every Sunday starting October 25 from 12—4 PM. Fall work days will happen regardless of the weather. All hands are needed to help get Fergi operational for the upcoming winter season. Remember, Fergi is an all-volunteer-run ski hill. Without volunteers, we would not even have a ski hill. Your spirit shapes the ski runs, builds the lodges, and so much more!
For this season, we need the following duties tackled:
- Thinning
- Piling and burning brush
- Cutting reprod trees (e.g., little trees) on runs - This is an easy task even for little kids. All you have to do is use clippers and cut the stem at the very base of the ground.
- Cutting and stacking firewood for the lodge, voodoo, and ski shack
- Cleaning the inside and outside of the lodge, as well as the windows
- Cleaning the inside and outside of the voodoo, as well as the windows
- Cleaning the inside of the ticket sales booth (lots of dead flies)
- Bathrooms cleaned
- Trash picked up around the ski hill
- Ski runs cleared and opened up
Please check in when you arrive with a hill manager for a specific task for the day. You are responsible for coming prepared for the day (e.g., appropriate clothes, food, water, work gloves, and your own equipment if you have it). Fergi will provide supplies for staining the lodge.
Contact Willy Locke at 541-426-6581 if you have any questions. Please contact him to coordinate cleaning supplies if you plan on cleaning the lodge or voodoo.
